Meow Mix
I am such a cat lady.
I don't know, it is just that felines have that attitude, that sass.
And yet, the way they curl up. In your lap, on the windowsill, in the bathroom sink.
Oh, kitties, I envy you.
Cats rule the world, right? My evidence: LOLZ Cats. These little graphics of cats with their crazily spelled captions will never get old. They crack me up. LMFAO ROFL, rather.
And OMFG, the Championship Cat Show by the Cat Fanciers' Association is coming to Wildwood Convention Center's Oceanfront Arena.
There's more than 400 cats competing...that's a lot of adorable whiskered noses.
No doubt the competion will be fierce. Some cats are such divas! Me-ow.
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday Aug. 14, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. $8 for adults, www.catshows.us

Teplitzky's

I recently grabbed lunch at one of my favorite spots, and I had to share about it ...
Teplitzky's is a diner-inspired Stephen Starr restaurant (reminiscent of Continental and Jones in Philly) in The Chelsea Hotel. The decor is fun, the service is friendly and the food is delish (and inexpensive)!
I sat at the bar (to catch a break from a busy work day) where I had 2 courses and a mocktail (yes, just a mocktail) for under $20! The chicken salad I had was particularly amazing ...
While I was there, I struck up a conversation with Mr. Teplitzky himself (son of the original owner) who was also there having lunch. He pointed to old family photos that hung on the wall and told me how much he liked the updated version.
I loved Teplitzky's so much -- I jumped at the chance to have dinner with a friend there a couple days ago. We had tuna tartar and hummus among other dishes, and afterwards, we went back to the hideaway lounge to have cocktails by the salt water pool.
Thank goodness, for The Chelsea ... my home away from home.

Vintage Madge
First, there was the OJ photo shoot in Bruno. Then I heard it on the radio. Now, I can't get "Like A Prayer" out of my freakin' head. But whatever, it's an amazing, amazing song...and an even better video.

Oh, Gilles...

Saturday night...Borgata was the place to be. mur.mur was hosting Gilles Marini (uber-hottie) and Samantha Ronson (back again!) and MIXX had Jermaine Dupri spinning for a packed house.
When I first arrived, I popped my head into the beautiful new Fornelletto (Stephen Kalt's new Italian concept) to find Gilles & a guest sitting at one of the restaurant's first tables--he was totally on display (and of course looking great).
I then met up with my friends & headed over to mur.mur. We sat at our usual table--the prime location for people watching. Sam had just taken over on the turn-tables, and we stopped over to say "Hi" and take pics with Gilles (Check out Kate's pic above). He's very relaxed, so friendly & even a lil' flirty (shocker, right?).

We then went to MIXX for a bit to check out the Jermaine Dupri party. The place was bursting with dancers & fans eager to see the legendary DJ/artist/producer. He played a lot of classic hip-hop tracks and a MJ tribute set that had the crowd going crazy.
After our intense MJ dance session, we went back to mur.mur. Sam was still killin' it (If you've never heard her Slash guitar remix of "Sweet Child O' Mine, you're missing out. Genius!). I danced the night away. And when I tried to grab one last dance with Gilles, I saw the pack of wild women and said, "ah, maybe next time"...

DUSK
Saturday, I was back at Dusk for the Opening Kick-Off. My girls & gays joined me for what was sure to be a wild night... It was 4th of July & AC was mobbed. And it seemed like everyone was at Dusk. The line to get in was crazy--stretching through the Caesars casino floor. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait. Our friend at the door (if you think I'm giving up his name--you're crazy) immediately let us through the velvet ropes & we were escorted downstairs.
Dusk has already become one of my favorite spots. The crowd is beautiful (even the bartenders are hot), the drinks come quick & strong, everyone's dancing--and when you need to take a breather--there's the Dawn lounge or the gated area on the boardwalk.
We partied for a bit in the Philly2Night lounge--those boys always know how to have a good time. There was even a reporter there doing a story on how good they are at it! And DJ AM had the crowd on their feet the whole night. He came on the mic at one point & thanked everyone for coming out and gave shout-outs to Jersey, Philly and NY.We partied long into the early hours, before calling it a night/morning. I can already tell you...Dusk is going to be huge this summer. So make sure you're there and dressed to kill.

FIREWORKS
In case you missed it, here are some clips from the "Atlantic City Fireworks Spectacular" hosted by Borgata & Harrah's Resort...
Special thanks to Grucci of New York and 95.1 WAYV!
All-American Picnic
On Saturday, I met up with some girlfriends for the 4th in Cape May. It was a great beach day! We sat on the sand, soaked up the sun & took in the view (muy caliente surfers). Afterwards we headed over to Congress Hall for their All-American Picnic. I always make it a point to stop at CH everytime I'm in Cape May. The hotel is stunning & it is always a great scene.
I had to run into Tommy's Folly first to get a La Colombe iced coffee pick-me-up (I was drained from all the sun that day). We then purused the picnic for a minute--listening to Fannie Smith & the AC Jazz Band play "old fashion" favorites for the crowd.
Next, we headed into the Brown Room for a quick drink. The BR is by far one of the best cocktail lounges in South Jersey. It's well designed (with appropraite music & lighting) and the bartenders are friendly & knowledgeable. And the drinks--always superb.
We went back outside, grabbed some gourmet barbeque and took a seat on the lawn. We watched the surf while eating corn on the cob & potato salad--the perfect meal for the 4th!And the lawn was packed with other families & friends out celebrating! Face painting, a photo both, games & sing-a-longs were among the festivities. There was also a Lobster Bake on the veranda, and the Boiler Room was featuring live music after the fireworks later on in the evening.

Ed Hardy Swimwear Show
Saturday night The Pool at Harrah's hosted the Ed Hardy Swimwear Show. The place was packed. In the cabanas, at the bar, in the pool, on the patio--tons of people had come out to see the 2010 swimwear collection from designer Christian Audigier. DJs spun both inside & out with a heavy mix of Michael--honoring the late King of Pop.
The show started at about 11:30 (with 3 sets total that night). The swimwear featured trademark Ed Hardy tattoo inspired prints with vibrant colors & metallic embellishments. And the models really knew how to get the crowd hot & bothered...they worked the stage & oozed sex appeal. The swimsuits were so hot, I made sure to pick up some pieces from the "mix & match" collection.
And all throughout, the crowd made it an awesome night to be in AC. Everyone lived it up and was extra flirty (but it's hard not to be there). Whether you're looking for "Mr. Right" or "Mr. Right Now"...The Pool is deinitely the place to go.

Dusk Opening
Friday night was the invite-only opening of Dusk (DJ AM's new spot in Caesar's). There's been a lot of buzz surrounding it, and I'm here to tell you it's all true--Dusk is hot.
I arrived at about 10:30 and a huge crowd had gathered outside, eagerly waiting to get in. I went to the front of the line, did the red carpet thing, and headed down the winding stairs to get my first glimpse...
Dusk is a circular shaped lounge with a dance floor at the center. 2 bars are located on either side (one edgy & metallic, another soft with onyx) and the center of the floor features "dancing poles" and LG panel displays. Bottle service seating lines the floor & VIP is sectioned off by the DJ booth. Tucked away, down another set of steps is Dawn--with it's own DJ and much more of a lounge vibe.
The crowd was dressed to kill and ready to get wild. Patron hosted a private lounge party that was the place to be (and everyone worth knowing was there). And back in VIP the very pregnant Nicole Richie sipped bottled water. We got to chat for a minute--she is so sweet & so pretty. She was there supporting her man, Joel Madden who performed with his brother Benji around 12:30. Jen Aniston was rumored to be there too...but security was tight lipped & wouldn't confirm.
It was another late, great night. And Dusk will definitely be one of the hottest spots to go this summer...see you there.

Got me lookin' so crazy right now...
Crazy is the new sexy...
2 of music's biggest acts have released singles titled "Paranoid." The songs/videos are very diiferent, but both are ripe with obsessive insanity.
Check out Kanye & the Joe Bros takes on "Paranoid" & let The Lady know which one has the potential to be this year's "Disturbia."

Kristen Cavallari @ mur.mur
Round 2...We were back at mur.mur this week for another dose of reality (TV stars). Ms. Kristen Cavallari (Laguna Beach/The Hills) was this week's host, and Samantha Ronson was DJing. We arrived sometime around 12. As we stepped up to the VIP entrance, Sam walked up next to us to head down & begin her set. She killed it all night.

As we made our way to the VIP lounge, we passed Kristen who looked amazing--seriously the girl is stunning. And friendly! She graciously said hi & took pics with all the fans crowding to see her.
We chatted with Kristen later, who said she was having a blast & was happy to be there--you could tell she was blown away by all the love the crowd was showing her...To catch up on the play-by-play action check out my Twitter... http://twitter.com/LadyLuckAC
Champagne flowed and we danced to Lady Gaga & The Black Eyed Peas. The crowd was hot too...more eye candy than I could handle. If you weren't there, than you were missing out. But for me, it was another late, great night! Thursday, June 18, 2009
Dear Dad
Sunday is Father's Day. If you weren't always "Daddy's Little Angel," then here are some gift ideas to get in his good graces...
As a kid: You spilled soda on his car phone.
Then get him: The new, new iPhone (it comes out Friday, which means you should've been on some retailer's list like 2 weeks ago). www.apple.com/iphone
As a kid: You were arrested for underage drinking.
Then get him: These "cuffs" instead. Because it's the little things that matter most (with men's fashion). http://www.target.com/

Then get him: A portable camper's grill. Now you can tell him to "take a hike" (and mean it!) next time he makes a burger joke. www.crateandbarrel.com/grills-and-accessories

Playlist
Songs I'm currently loving...
"Waking Up in Vegas" --Katy Perry
Yes, it's all over the radio, but it's so damn catchy!
"The Wind Blows" --All American Rejects
An uber-sexy breakup song
"Panic Switch" --Silversun Pickups
This song gives me a rush everytime I hear it.
"Paparazzi" --Lady Gaga
She's a pop force to be reckoned with.
"Spaceman" --The Killers
Great band, great song...arguably rock's most unique band

Paris @ mur.mur
We arrived at about 12:30, and my friend who runs VIP told me that Paris had arrived around 12 with a small group that included Richie Rich of Heatherette.
mur.mur was packed (literally hundreds of people). Everyone was dressed to kill. Paris looked hot in a mini-dress and Blair Waldorf inspired bow in her hair. She and her posse partied right next to Jesse Marco's DJ booth (and of course, she danced on the platform). People drank, people danced, but mostly people observed the beautiful celebrity in her natural habitat. Shots were taken, shout-outs were made, but after a week of drama--the girl needed to have a some fun.
Richie stopped over for a bit to chat & pose for some pics (why so serious, Kev?). He's such a doll...We stayed well into the night/early morning as the music kept coming.
It was another great night at one of my favorite spots...can't wait to do it again.
